Novice Men win at Peterborough Summer – Congratulations goes to Tom, Plouto, Tom Wei and Dave for winning their novices on the Saturday of Peterborough Summer and then winning S4 4+ on the Sunday. For a full report see our Race Reports (link) page.

Men’s 1st VIII reclaim the Sprint 8s title at Sudbury International Regatta – This title has finally come back home.  After narrowly missing out in 2007 to a Pete Gosling Sudbury/Leander composite crew the Lea men were back in force with an A & B crew for the 2008 campaign.  Having seen the depth of the Lea squad the returning Sudbury/Leander composite crew scratched which paved the way for a Lea A and Lea B final once Lea A had navigated their way through the semi final.  In the final Lea B were quick out the blocks to take a narrow lead.  Lea A’s superior power eventually meant the Lea B crew were rowed through in the final 100 metres.

Junior Girls enjoy 3 silver medals at the National Championships – Congratulations goes to Ruth Courtney, Lottie Hudson and Lizzie Panton for achieving 3 Silver medals at this year’s National Championships.  For a full report see our Race Reports (link) page.

Development Launch Party – A big thank you goes to all that helped out and attended the launch party.  It was a big success with members of the Amateur Rowing Association, Lea Valley Park Authority, London Youth Rowing and past members of the club attending in force.  For more information see our Boathouse Development (link) page.

Henley Royal Regatta 2008 – Congratulations goes to all the men involved in Henley Royal Regatta this year.  This has been the best campaign for 7 years and bodes well for the future.   The Wyfold four did exceptionally well to reach the semi final and will be back next year to prove a point!  Well done to Vincent (rowing for the Lea) who was part of the Leander/Henley composite Prince of Wales quad who got through to the quarter finals but narrowly lost by a foot.  Well done also to the Thames Cup eight who pushed Vesta A all the way but unfortunately their 2 stone advantage per man paid off in the end.  For a full report see out Race Reports (link) page.
