to take an inclusive and high-potential London club to the next level
At Lea RC we believe it is possible to prioritise inclusion and broadening access alongside performance rowing at the highest level. This is the future of our sport.
We have built a positive, inclusive club with a strong culture. Over recent years we have invested heavily in our community. We’re now one of the largest clubs in the country. We have the best land facilities in London, plus access to 7km of river and 2km of multi-lane course. We offer every kind of rowing - from novice to medalist, competitive, recreational, juniors, schools, adaptive, learn to row… And British Rowing named us Club of the Year 2022 in recognition of our achievements.
But we want to aim higher on the competitive scene. We already punch above our weight - recently we’ve made finals and semi-finals at Henley Royal and Women’s, and had homegrown GB representation. Our success is based on a performance pathway developed in-house which takes rowers from complete beginner to Henley. But our next ambition is to build on that platform to achieve more regular success, and ultimately return to the winners’ podium.
We are now looking for support to take the next step. We are looking for someone with expertise and ideas that can empower and develop our team, and help us push forwards. We already have the building blocks in place - good numbers, strong training culture and a fantastic coaching team. It’s a ready-made opportunity - we just need help to sprinkle some performance magic on top!
If you share our outlook and think you can make the difference, we want to hear from you. We’re open to proposals and ideas, and happy to speak about what we can offer in return. We’ll move quickly for the right candidate.
Get in touch with our Captain, Matt Pooley (captain@learc.org.uk) ASAP. Discussions will take place in late May and early June.
